Siegel, Tap Troup Take a Village
Ann Arbor’s Sole Full of Rhythm dance ensemble teams up with renowned songwriter/ singer Dick Siegel to present “Village Jump!” at 7:30p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 25, 26, & 27 and at 4p.m. on Saturday, March 27, in the Riverside Arts Center, 76 N. Huron, north of Michigan Avenue in downtown Ypsilanti.
Besides local favorite Siegel, who will perform with The Brandos, guest artists also include acclaimed jazz pianist Rick Roe, vocalist Surry Scheerer, percussion master Don Allen, major mime/ raconteur Michael Lee, and SFOR Artistic Director Sara Randazzo.
Showcasing the tapping toes of Sole Full of Rhythm, “Village Jump!” will feature the newly choreographed Siegel composition, “Skin,” internationally known tap artist Josh Hilberman’s “Capella Josh,” executed for the first time with music, and a crescendo of multi-aged movement in the show’s namesake piece, “Village Jump!”.
In addition to annual concerts, Sole Full of Rhythm regularly presents shows and educational programming to organizations and schools in the Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Lincoln school districts, as well as to private and charter schools. The troupe has also toured festivals throughout Michigan, thrilling audiences with that unique American art form, Tap.
